In just three years of operation in the Democratic Republic of Congo, CRDB Bank DR Congo has established itself as one of the most dynamic banks in the country’s banking sector. As it celebrates its third anniversary, the institution reflects on a remarkable journey characterized by sustained growth, continuous digital innovation, strategic network expansion, and a strong commitment to community development. Three Years of Remarkable Achievements Since its establishment in the Democratic Republic of Congo on July 10, 2023, CRDB Bank DR Congo has transformed vision into tangible results. The Bank Head Office is centrally located in Lubumbashi, Haut Katanga province. In three years, the bank has expanded its footprint through the opening of three branches, including two in Lubumbashi, and one in Kinshasa, the country’s capital. The Bank serves over ten thousand customers across all retail and corporate segments, recording USD 202m in total assets during the period and above all breakeven performance in the first quarter of 2026 with USD 0.3m in PAT. This strategic presence and effective strategy execution have enabled the bank to move closer to its customers and effectively meet the needs of individuals, businesses, and other key stakeholders. Furthermore, this success has been fostered by bringing onboard crucial correspondent bank relationships in 2024, progressive engagements with partners and DFIs to enhance service offering, funding and improving financial position. Digital Transformation at the Heart of the Strategy Recognizing the challenges related to financial inclusion and access to banking services, CRDB Bank DR Congo has made technological innovation one of the pillars of its development strategy. The major achievements in 2025 include the deployment of SimBanking, a modern digital platform offering a wide range of innovative features, as well as Internet Banking, which enables individuals and businesses to conduct banking transactions 24 hours a day with ease and security. Deployment of Agency Banking in the same period extended customers’ access to the Banking services, increasing customer touchpoints. The year 2026 was also marked by the official launch of the VISA TemboCard debit, unveiled during a major ceremony held in Kinshasa. This new solution enhances the bank’s payment offerings and addresses the growing demand for both local and international transactions. At the same time, CRDB Bank DR Congo continues to expand its network of banking agents across the country and improve accessibility through the gradual deployment of Automated Teller Machines (ATMs). To date, the bank operates 9 ATMs in Lubumbashi, 3 in Kinshasa and 13 Agents A Responsible Bank Serving Communities Beyond its business performance, CRDB Bank DR Congo stands out for its strong social commitment, placing community development at the center of its activities. Through the CRDB Marathon, which has become a flagship sporting and charitable event over the years, the bank continues to demonstrate its determination to contribute meaningfully to improving the quality of life of local communities. The 2024 and 2025 editions mobilized significant resources in support of the healthcare sector. In 2024, the bank financed the rehabilitation and equipment of the neonatology and pediatric departments of the Jason Sendwe General Referral Hospital in Lubumbashi, contributing significantly to improving the quality of care for newborns and children. Building on this commitment, the 2025 edition financed and fully equipped a modern laboratory at the Ruashi Military Garrison Hospital, an essential healthcare facility serving military personnel, their families, and surrounding communities. Through these high-impact social initiatives, CRDB Bank DR Congo demonstrates its vision of a financial institution that not only supports economic growth but also contributes to social progress and collective well-being. Promising Prospects for the Future As we celebrate the third anniversary, CRDB Bank DR Congo looks to the future with confidence and ambition. The bank continues to pursue its ambitious expansion plan with the opening additional branches in Kolwezi at the heart of the Congolese mining industry, Kalemie connecting business with Western region of Tanzania, Kasumbalesa Border and strengthening presence in Kinshasa in the medium term. The aim is consolidating the Banks position in the country’s key economic centers and reinforcing its commitment to making banking services more accessible. The expansion will include expanding branch network, the strengthening of its digital channels, the growth of ATM network, and its continued commitment to financial inclusion and community. These achievements reflect CRDB Bank's determination to make the marathon a true driver of social and healthcare progress. 2026 Objective: Supporting the Diagnosis and Treatment of Skin Diseases among People Living with Albinism For the 2026 edition, CRDB Bank has chosen to dedicate the funds raised to supporting the diagnosis and treatment of skin diseases affecting people living with albinism. People with albinism are particularly vulnerable to the harmful effects of the sun due to the absence or reduced production of melanin. This increased sensitivity exposes them to various dermatological conditions, including precancerous lesions and skin cancer, making regular screening and appropriate medical care essential. Through this initiative, CRDB Bank aims to improve access to dermatological consultations, diagnostic examinations, specialized treatment, and preventive healthcare services, ultimately enhancing the quality of life of people living with albinism. This cause reflects not only a public health priority but also a commitment to social inclusion by raising awareness of the challenges faced by this community. LE CRDB MARATHON REVIENT EN 2025 AVEC UNE MISSION TOUJOURS PLUS NOBLE Forte du succès retentissant de sa première édition, la CRDB Bank est fière d’annoncer le lancement de la deuxième édition du CRDB Marathon, un événement désormais à vocation internationale, avec des courses organisées en République Démocratique du Congo le 03 août, au Burundi le 10 août, et en Tanzanie le 17 août 2025. Plus qu’un simple rendez-vous sportif, le CRDB Marathon porte une dimension profondément caritative et communautaire. Il incarne l’engagement de la CRDB Bank à contribuer activement au bien-être des populations locales, en mobilisant les coureurs et les partenaires autour d’une cause sociale forte. Une première édition qui a changé des vies L’édition 2024 du CRDB Marathon a permis de récolter plus de 50 000 USD, fonds qui ont servi à équiper le service de pédiatrie et de néonatologie de l’hôpital Jason Sendwe à Lubumbashi. Grâce à cet élan de solidarité, l’hôpital a pu bénéficier de lits pédiatriques, de tables de dialyse, de couveuses et d'autres équipements médicaux essentiels, améliorant significativement la prise en charge des nouveau-nés et des enfants malades. Objectif 2025 : équiper le laboratoire de l’Hôpital militaire de la Ruashi Pour cette nouvelle édition, la CRDB Bank a fixé un nouvel objectif humanitaire : contribuer à l’équipement du laboratoire de l’hôpital militaire de la Ruashi, afin de renforcer les capacités de diagnostic et de soins de cet établissement stratégique pour la région. Un événement fédérateur, festif et solidaire Le CRDB Marathon 2025 s’annonce encore plus fédérateur, avec une programmation élargie et inclusive. Chaque édition dans les trois pays sera marquée par une ambiance conviviale, des performances sportives de haut niveau, des activités pour les familles, et des moments de célébration partagée sans oublier la cause sociale au cœur de l’événement.
