CRDB Marathon Returns in 2026 with a New Mission of Solidarity

Building on the success of previous editions, CRDB Bank is proud to announce the launch of the CRDB Marathon 2026, which will take place on August 2, 2026, in Lubumbashi.

Over the years, the CRDB Marathon has become much more than a sporting event. It has evolved into a platform for solidarity, community engagement, and social impact, helping to fund meaningful projects that benefit the most vulnerable members of society. Through this initiative, CRDB Bank reaffirms its commitment to sustainable development and the well-being of the communities it serves.

Previous Editions with Lasting Impact

The CRDB Marathon has already demonstrated its ability to transform lives through the collective efforts of thousands of participants, partners, and sponsors.

The 2024 edition supported the Pediatrics and Neonatology Department of Jason Sendwe General Referral Hospital in Lubumbashi by providing essential medical equipment to improve the care of newborns and children.

The 2025 edition marked another significant milestone with the donation of a brand-new, fully equipped modern laboratory to the Ruashi Military Garrison Hospital. This initiative strengthened the hospital's diagnostic capabilities, improving both the quality and speed of medical care for the benefit of the local population.

These achievements reflect CRDB Bank's determination to make the marathon a true driver of social and healthcare progress.

2026 Objective: Supporting the Diagnosis and Treatment of Skin Diseases among People Living with Albinism

For the 2026 edition, CRDB Bank has chosen to dedicate the funds raised to supporting the diagnosis and treatment of skin diseases affecting people living with albinism.

People with albinism are particularly vulnerable to the harmful effects of the sun due to the absence or reduced production of melanin. This increased sensitivity exposes them to various dermatological conditions, including precancerous lesions and skin cancer, making regular screening and appropriate medical care essential.

Through this initiative, CRDB Bank aims to improve access to dermatological consultations, diagnostic examinations, specialized treatment, and preventive healthcare services, ultimately enhancing the quality of life of people living with albinism.

This cause reflects not only a public health priority but also a commitment to social inclusion by raising awareness of the challenges faced by this community.

Run for a Cause That Changes Lives

The CRDB Marathon 2026 will bring together professional athletes, recreational runners, businesses, partner institutions, and families around a shared purpose: using sport as a powerful vehicle for solidarity and hope.

Every registration, every partnership, and every kilometer completed will directly contribute to improving access to quality healthcare and supporting the diagnosis and treatment of skin diseases among people living with albinism.

Join Us on August 2, 2026, in Lubumbashi

On August 2, 2026, Lubumbashi will come alive with the spirit of solidarity, inclusion, and determination. Together, let us run to give people living with albinism better access to healthcare and the opportunity for a healthier, brighter future.
